Our ballast-free mounting system

When it comes to buildings with a weak roof structure, many installers are quick to think: that will be difficult with solar panels. Understandable. Traditional mounting systems often require a lot of ballast to stay in place. Think of 10 to 20 kilos per m² — that's easily two paving stones per panel. Add extra blocks for wind zones on the coast, and the weight quickly increases. Not every roof is designed for that.

But what if ballast is not needed at all?

No extra ballast, no worries about sagging

RABLE systems offer a solution. Thanks to smart anchoring or clamping technology on exoskeletons, ballast is unnecessary. This not only saves weight, but also prevents installers from having to climb onto the roof with heavy tiles. And that is very convenient if you are working on a roof that can only handle a limited load.

Even when placed on an H-profile or exoskeleton — where the system floats above the roof, as it were — ballast remains unnecessary. Thanks to the span capacity of RABLE, supports can be placed far apart without losing strength. This makes smart use of the existing support structure without having to weigh down the roof.

Minimal anchoring, maximum stability

Many mounting systems work with loose components and therefore need to be anchored at multiple points — sometimes with two anchors per panel. This means holes in the roof or long “gluing times” for the roofer. RABLE does it differently.

Our system forms a rigid whole on the roof, which cannot 'wave' or blow up in high winds. If something were to go wrong, the entire system would have to blow off the roof—a virtually impossible scenario, as the total weight of the panels simply prevents this. For maximum security, RABLE only anchors the corners. Four anchors are often sufficient for a field of 200 panels. Want to know how many anchors RABLE recommends for your project? Designed for challenging roofs

The RABLE system was developed with this exact challenge in mind: how do you install solar panels on roofs with limited load-bearing capacity, without compromising on safety or ease of installation? Thanks to the ballast-free installation, minimal anchoring and smart construction, RABLE offers a solution that works for installers and property owners.
